For the most part, Krys keeps to himself. This isn't in a reclusive way, since he is still very much a rockstar, but more in the sense that you're never truly getting all of him when you're with him. In fact, most people don;t even get half of who he is. There are few people he trusts, and even they don't always know what's going on in his head. Krys keeps himself guarded, shrouding himself in that mystery, for reasons one might not expect. It's no gimmick, no persona. It's just the only way he can cope with all that's happened and all he's lost. There was a time when he was an open book, one unknowingly used for other people's agendas and lies, and the tragedy that caused stripped everything he had and had ever known away. He's rebuilt himself behind a wall, not trusting someone won't do it to him again. He also doesn't really trust himself anymore, either. He's been touched by shadow, kissed by the darkness, and truly blames himself for what happened. If he had been more, he could have saved her, which has led him to keeping others at arms length to save them.

The one thing he does still trust, however, is music. Being able to play and write were the only things Krys could count on for a long time (until he met Romeo, at least), and he has grown dependent on his art to get out everything he couldn't express before. He doesn't play for the fame, no matter how much those enigmatic smiles and silver tongue moments might suggest otherwise. He does it because it truly saved him. The only reason he's able to interact with smooth calmness and project the elusive aura instead of radiating the anger and bitterness he felt for so long is music. Well music and the bandmates he now considers family. They pulled him out of the darkness, helping him through the guilt and tumultuous emotions until he felt like a person again. That isn't to say Krys doesn't have dark moments, because he very much does (in the form of night terrors and explosive lashes of temper mixed with intense depression and grief), but he can move through those things with his music and his newfound family. They are the only thing holding him together some days, even if he doesn't always know how to show it or say it.

There are many things Krys still struggles with, but it's all under the surface; like the beautiful icebergs you see in the ocean. He is calm, a gorgeous sight to behold and be close to, but there are jagged edges down where you can't see. All he needs is to feel like he can let someone in to help thaw those edges out.
